Même si nous ne partageons pas tout-à-fait les mêmes principes d’investissement, nous nous sommes trouvés énormément de points communs et les raisonnements développés par Laurent nous ont paru marqués par le sceau du bon sens.
Il nous a semblé intéressant de vous faire profiter de ces raisonnements et c’est la raison pour laquelle Laurent tiendra, sur ce blog et à intervalles réguliers, une chronique présentant ses principes d’investissement.
Ce sera l’occasion de débattre avec l’équipe des daubasses mais aussi avec vous, ami( e) lecteur(trice) des sujets qui seront développés par notre ami.
Début 2015, j’ai effectué un marathon de l’analyse financière. Afin d’avoir une vue d’hélicoptère de l’ensemble du marché japonais, j’ai lu les données financières des 4 derniers exercices des 3 500 entreprises japonaises cotées découvrant à l’occasion des entreprises aux activités surprenantes:
* La vente d’objets de cultes shinto
* Des formations pour bien porter le kimono
* Des entreprises organisant mariages et… funérailles
* Un fabriquant de pétards et de fusées
* Plusieurs entreprises organisant des cours pour enfants après l’école
* Un vendeur de kimonos traditionnels
* Des fabricants de pachinko
* Une entreprise donnant des cours pour s’habiller en kimonos
Amusant pour des entreprises cotées !
Objectifs
Mes objectifs étaient en réalité multiples:
* Avoir une vue d’ensemble de la variété des situations financières et des types d’entreprises d’un marché.
* Effectuant habituellement mes présélections par screener maison, ne donnant qu’une vue partielle d’un marché, j’ai souhaité découvrir des types de structures financières intéressantes non remontées par mon screener et affiner ma méthode d’investissement.
* Trouver des opportunités d’investissement sortant de la pure décote sur actifs et captées par mon étude d’octobre 2014 . Les mises en garde de ma précédente chronique restent d’actualité.
J’ai identifié 10 entreprises présentant à la fois un coussin de sécurité sur actifs tangibles et des flux correspondant à mes attentes (sur ce dernier point, j’aurais souhaité pouvoir remonter plus loin dans l’historique des entreprises, ce qui n’a pas été possible du fait de la barrière de la langue) dont j’ai acheté des actions début février 2015.
Les données ci-dessous correspondent à la situation début février 2015. Le prix de certains titres ayant évolué significativement depuis cette date, il convient d’actualiser les calculs en fonction des cours actuels.

Conclusion
Le marathon de l’analyse m’a permis de parcourir l’ensemble des entreprises japonaises cotées, plutôt que d’observer quelques entreprises individuelles, identifiant au passage un groupe de 10 entreprises potentiellement intéressantes qui n’auraient pas été remontées par mes screeners, venant s’ajouter aux 17 entreprises ayant une décote sur actifs tangibles déjà présentées dans ma chronique précédente.
